I was invited to Schwarzkopf Shaping futures event on Sunday; the aim was to raise money for the charity. The charity is designed to help under privilege kids develop hairdressing skills to take with them to the real working world.
Launched in November 2010, Shaping Futures is a worldwide social initiative that sees Schwarzkopf Professional partnering with leading non-profit organisation SOS Children’s villages. Groups of our volunteer hairdressers from different countries, travelled to SOS Children’s villages for 4 weeks to train disadvantaged youngsters, introducing them to our craft and showing how it could provide them with a potential livelihood.
On entry there was a raffle for a chance to win a £150 hamper of Clynol and Schwarzkoph products and marmalade vodka. The venue chosen was in East London, fourth floor studios the night kicked off with drinks at the bar and seating on a rooftop for our outdoor BBQ. We were served food from around the world where Shaping futures have been to, such as India, Morocco, peru and Lavita.
It was great to see the familiar faces from the Schwarzkophf HQ and new ones, we was treated to a live performance by Animal Circus. They taught me if you mouth “elephant juice”, it should echo “i love you” LOL
The goody bag was filled with kid stuff and hair professional hair products.
