My friend’s sister asked me to do her make up for her wedding, it was nerve wrecking as weddings are a big thing, but i had 8 months to prepare and done numerous trials so i was at ease after. I took the bride to be, make up shopping, the hardest job was to find the right foundation that photographs in flash photography well. As far as i know, foundations with SPF should be avoided and the various make up brands out there has different amounts of the ingredient titanium dioxide in their foundations. Titanium dioxide creates a white/grey outcast in flash photography!
me at work!
We found Mac studio sculpt foundation in NC25, although it had SPF 15 in the product we found it gave a nice flawless finish to the face and to finish off i used MAC mineralize skinfinish powder.
The bride doesn’t usually wear make up, everyday i wanted to achieve a natural look and define her features more. I used bronzed, pinks, and purple eyeshadows and added fake eyelashes for definition. The brands i used for the eyes was NEW ID, ester lauder and Urban decay potion primer to prime the eyes. Using cream blushers will last longer all day on the face, i forgotten what the colour was but it was from MAC. If you layered the cream blush with a powder blush it will last longer and look stronger in photos. I used MAC products on the lips and finished her face with Fix+ to set the make up.
A great tip for long lasting lip colour is to apply the lipstick then bloat with a tissue and reapply again.
Enkore has a great video about the use of setting sprays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEzrGMdkmMc
During the night i just added more plums and thickened the black eyeliner, added more blusher, and used a red lipstick.
so congrats Senh and Pan, your wedding was beautiful! i think next time i want to get my hands on being the professional photographer for the day
